What is the process to start therapy at Astute and how do I get placed with a qualified therapist who can meet my needs?
We know reaching out to begin therapy can feel overwhelming, confusing and often cause unnecessary stress. We have streamlined a process at Astute to make the process less intimidating, easier to navigate and with full support of our wonderful staff. Please view the timeline of steps below to help you navigate the process of scheduling your first appointment with us.

Whether you call or email, you will receive a prompt response from our team members, ready to help you navigate the intake process, answer any questions you may have and assist with therapist placement.

After speaking with our intake coordinators, you will receive a questionnaire to fill out via email, which will highlight some of your areas of concern, discuss your insurance provider and also your availability for appointments. Please remember to check your junk email for the questionnaire from info@astutecounseling.com.

-Once we receive your completed questionnaire back via email, Owner and Head Clinician Rebecca E Tenzer, will carefully review your answers and listen to your concerns. We take the placement process very seriously at Astute to ensure proper placement occurs.
-You will be placed with a therapist first based on your areas of concern, previous diagnosis and or other information provided in the questionnaire.
-Next we look at scheduling to ensure we can match you with a therapists who can meet both your mental health and scheduling needs.
-If we do not feel that both needs and scheduling availability can be met, we will offer you a referral to our of our trusted mental health practices in the area.
-If we are able to meet all of your needs and have found a therapist for you to work with, you will receive an email introduction to your new therapist who will be available to schedule an intake and answer any additional questions you have.
